Bike to the Moon was a team project I participated in for Eric Paulos's Spring 2011 Basic Interaction Design class at CMU. Working within the domain of physical fitness and the platform of the web, we conducted some user research through interviews and a survey to get an idea of what peoples' needs are be within this area and then designed a solution to address those needs.
Specifically, we found that while people enjoy the idea of working out with others, they find scheduling and difficulty of working out with others of varying skill levels prevented them from actually teaming up for exercise. We designed a website which provides a platform for people to take on exercise-based challenges, such as biking to the moon, with friends. By pooling their efforts with their friends, people can accomplish challenges which sound impossible at first and be social at the same time.
My contributions to this project can be seen most strongly in the ideation, concept design, and presentation stages of this project.
